Jernej arriving

Yup, he made it and it was really nice seeing him after two months, although we both felt that it really was not that long. I guess we both live full and busy lives.

He had a crazy journey as he was attending a conference in Amsterdam from Saturday till Tuesday evening, so he came home at midnight and went to work on Wednesday. All packed he dropped the car at his parents and boarded on the first plane – being just half an hour late. He thought it a bit odd, that he was not able to get boarding ticket for the last flight, but as he was with a flu, he did not think further.

not really caring for customers

As the flight in Frankfurt was also delayed by half an hour, but fortunately for Lufthansa touched down a minute before they would need to reimburse claims, the boarding was closed for the last flight. Having a carry on in this case proved I guess being a good idea. As the best was Lufthansa could do would board him on the flight scheduled same time tomorrow (which would ruin all our plans and would make him stay in the J’bourg airport for 36 hours), he decided to be a brave man and fly Air Malawi 🙂 As he was really feeling all but well I think this was a great investment of 300 EUR (which we do hope to be able to claim back) as this got him here earlier and with less commotion (apart from the stress in J’bourg).

apparently an adventure to fly with

As Mwabi told me that in Malawi it is custom to cook a huge meal for a husband when he returns, I took Jernej to a large Jungle Pepper pizza.  🙂 It was the first one for me and we all really enjoyed it.

All things aside I am really happy he is here and hope he gets better soon, so that he can have some african experience.
